(no subject)

There's nothing worse than standing in the snow with a pike than standing in the snow with a pike for six hours in the bitter cold at night. My feet and arms and toes and fingers were all numb with cold. I think they would have fallen off, 'cept they don't do those sort of things. I had the creepy feeling that I was being watched the entire time. Never had that happened to me in the four years I've been standing vigil. Mom says it might because I'm becoming more intune with the spirits and the other side of things. She's been working on those sort of things on and off with me, since I'm the only one in the family who seems to have the precognative knack. She wants to try and expand my abilities in that area.

I'll never be an Oracle like Jono (the bastard tried to grope me the other day. I kicked him in the knee. Really, why don't they keep him locked up in the temple?) but I guess I could do something more than what I have. Get a sixth sense for danger or something. Mostly doing it to make mom happy.

Met my first witch yesterday.

No, let me rephrase that, I met my first witch in a peaceful setting yesterday and we didn't try to kill each other. I don't know what he was doing in the city. They usually stay away from Pentarch, bad ju-ju or something. It was before the vigil. I was helping grandpa with some last minute stuff at the council (Gods only know how he's roped me into doing that. I feel like I've been stretched into sixteen different directions) and the witch came by. He was an older fella, around dad's age, but looked like grandpa's age. They age faster apparently, like non-magical humans. He and grandfather talked briefly, he kept on staring at me. Or my tattoo really. And then he left.

Grandfather wouldn't say why he was there. But he didn't look happy afterwards.

I guess I'll have to wait and see if anything comes of it.
