Shopping, with Tiwa

The door leads out into a shaded courtyard paved with pale red stones. Two sides of the courtyard is created by the house, the third a stable and the fourth the gate into the outside city. A tall tree with wide, flat, pale yellow leaves is in the center, its roots woven into nooks to sit in. Laruna sits on one of the roots, her fingers criss-crossing a cats-cradle game while next to her stood a man about hers and Alec's age. He has short curly auburn hair on a round face with hazel eyes. He could be nice looking except for the rather unpleasant smirk on his face. He's nuts eating from a small bag, from which Laruna occasionally snags some from.

The air is crisp with the tang of just started spring. Tall mountains cusp the surrounding view with white finger tips. Two moons hang like wisps of clouds in the sky, barely visible. The house is a two story cream colored building with a rooftop that came to a sharp point to prevent snow for clinging on to it. Glass panes protected the windows and are nudged open just a bit to let the fresh air in.

It is a rather pleasant day, all in all.

Tiwa is grinning and looking around her as she almost tastes the wind.

She's not sitting at the moment but kind of moving her way around the tree.

The wind will taste of magic, it's very strong here in this city in this valley. Magic is made apart of the city like the stones, cement, glass and wood. Though only a certain kind of magic touches that of the wood and living things and another of the stone and water.

The auburn haired boy watches her curiously and then flicks a nut at Alec. "This her?" he asks, his voice is almost mocking.

With all the magic in the air, Tiwa's hair ruffles and feather are even visible in her hair,

"I think I like your world."

Laruna smiles at this. "It's even better outside in the city."

"Oh, and this is Jono, he's the boyfriend who's paying for everything. Jono, Tiwa," Laruna continued giving him a friendly pat on the head.

"He's cute enough. So where are we going first?"

"Does she have any idea who I am?" Jono snapped irritably to Alec as he walked over to him.

"Yes, the incredibly rich boyfriend." He snugged an arm around Jono's waist and rested a head on his shoulder.

Laruna took up next to Tiwa, "Where do you want to go first? Or what do you want first?"

"You're the one who gives Alec lots of good sex. Um how about outfits first and then sparklies to go with them."

A glare is thrown in Laurna's direction. "Beyond that!"

"It's not important, come darling!" Laruna drags her out of the courtyard into the street proper. It's louder suddenly, the walls muffling the noise of the busy street.

People dressed colorfully in warm clothing, still not having taken the sun for real. A loaded cart drawn by a horse with a horn on it goes by, its driver trying to navigate the press of people with out stepping on them.

The street is broad with an island of grass down the middle and paved stones on each side. Slush is found on the gutters and bits of snow still cling to the shadows of bushes and buildings. Almost every single person walking smells of magic, the sort of earth and fire, water and air.

Tiwa's used to Wellington where the weather's always changing and so has a jacket on over her t shirt and giggles,

"So show me your favorite shop."

Well the sky is blue and it should remain that way, so they shouldn't have to worry about anything until later on in the afternoon.

With an "Of course!" she pulls Tiwa into the crowd. "We're not so far from it, so we can walk. And the boys can trail."

"They're really good at doing that."

"Of course they are, they're men." She laughs as she says it. Laruna moves deftly through the crowd of people while she talks.

They move from a residential area with large houses to smaller homes and shops. In some places there are fountains that spit fire as well as the normal ones of water.

The fire makes Tiwa beam and grin,

"Ooh, that's so shiny. But sometimes they're useful."

Laruna pauses, "Do you like those? It's real fire, so you don't want to touch it if you're not good with fire."

There are a few children who are reaching into the flames with unconcerned parents watching nearby.

"Singes my feathers but its pretty. I do better with just pretty light."

She laughs and a few sparkles dance off her fingertips.

"Singes me as well, I do better with the water fountains myself. Alec and Jono are the ones with fire." She looks at the sparkles. "Those are lovely."

"Thanks, good at illusions and here they're even easier."

A small bird is created and flies off her fingers to circle Laruna's head.

She tilts her head back to watch it, holding a hand up to see if it's tangible. A few of the children playing at the fountain notice it and run over to try and catch it with leaps.

Her fingers pass through it leaving a wave of lights but it still keeps flying to swoop with the children as Tiwa laughs, glowing a bit herself.

The boys catch up with them at this point and Alec snags some flame from the fountain and deftly changes it into a bird to go and chase Tiwa's own.

Jono sits on the ledge, still eating his nuts, muttering show off.

When the flame bird catches the bird of light it dissolves into light as Tiwa grins as the flames make her feathers shine,

"Hey, you didn't have to do that."

"I didn't," Alec said with an irritated look. "Someone snagged it from me."

Someone, Jono, gives him a "What? I thought we were shopping not playing chase."

"And we are, you're the ones who are being weird. Though I guess its not your fault that you're boys."

To prove her maturity on the subject, Laruna takes Tiwa's arm and marches her off, sticking her tongue out at the boys. "Jono's suck a twit," she says.

"Well, we don't have to like him. Alec can just bribe him with kisses and other stuff later."

Tiwa is quite happy to let herself be lead off.
