element_wizard | Shopping, with Tiwa

The door leads out into a shaded courtyard paved with pale red stones. Two sides of the courtyard is created by the house, the third a stable and the fourth the gate into the outside city. A tall tree with wide, flat, pale yellow leaves is in the center, its roots woven into nooks to sit in. Laruna sits on one of the roots, her fingers criss-crossing a cats-cradle game while next to her stood a man about hers and Alec's age. He has short curly auburn hair on a round face with hazel eyes. He could be nice looking except for the rather unpleasant smirk on his face. He's nuts eating from a small bag, from which Laruna occasionally snags some from.

The air is crisp with the tang of just started spring. Tall mountains cusp the surrounding view with white finger tips. Two moons hang like wisps of clouds in the sky, barely visible. The house is a two story cream colored building with a rooftop that came to a sharp point to prevent snow for clinging on to it. Glass panes protected the windows and are nudged open just a bit to let the fresh air in.

It is a rather pleasant day, all in all.

"See, they could have told you."

"But that doesn't mean anything. For example if I were to say that Alec's godfather is a witch, what would that mean to you?"

"That he can do magic in some form or another."

Jono nods, "But not what kind of magic, does it? Just like saying Pooka doesn't tell us quite what kind of fey you are."

"Yes, it does. Alec just told you."

"Turning into a bird?"

Food arrives at this moment, breaking the conversation. Alec and Jono's dishes look vaguely middle eastern. Laruna's is on a plate covered in a red sauce, like she ordered, and leafy things around it. For Tiwa the fish has been braised and coated with ginger. A basket of flat bread is also included.

"And other stuff."

Then she's eating which is really good way to move the conversation on, hopefully.

Jono lets it drop and eats his own food, occasionally taking from Alec's plate. But that's okay because Alec takes from his plate.

"So, tell me, do you have anyone you're being romantic with?" Jono then asks as he folds some meat into a piece of bread. "Taking out on a picnic or buying something shiny?"

Eating plus hair means that Tiwa can do her best to hide her blush,

"Maybe but really we're just friends is all."

"Who do you think she's getting that dress for?" Laruna said, teasingly.

"Stop being helpful."

A piece of bread is flicked at Laruna.

Laruna bats it away and it lands in Alec's wine. He takes it out and drops it on Jono's food. Jono eats it without complaint.

"You should get him a souvenir," Jono then says.

"Not sure what to get him, his world's magical after all and wouldn't want to get the wrong thing."

"Get him something non-magical then," Suggested Laruna.

"Well, what would you get a boy you liked?"

"Sword?" Alec suggested.

"Not everyone likes weapons. And swords are expensive," Laruna said. "A book maybe or something small that has to do with what he likes."

"Or jewelery," Jono adds with a smirk.

"He likes Quidditch, but I'm not sure what he'd do with a broom necklace except look at me weird."

Jono and Laruna get puzzled looks on their faces clearly not familiar with the game. Alec however is.

"It's a game in James' world that magic users there play. You could get him a good luck charm." Alec then says.

"Maybe, I don't know. Its James, he's so confusing."

Slapping her hand against the table hard enough to rattled the dishes, Laruna smiled. "I know! Food! Food always works."

"Ooh yes, he loves these things called cauldron cakes, I wonder if there's anything like that here."

"Maybe, I dunno," Alec said.

"We could figure something out. So dessert?"

"Yes, dessert!" Alec starts to point at things. "There isn't anything with chocolate I'm afraid. We don't have it here. But there's other good stuff. These are like baklava, very good."

"A favorite of Alec's," Jono put in. "These are berry tarts with cream, that's a fruit cake with a sugar glaze, and that's a fruit and ice cup with syrup made from wine."
