Shopping, with Tiwa

The door leads out into a shaded courtyard paved with pale red stones. Two sides of the courtyard is created by the house, the third a stable and the fourth the gate into the outside city. A tall tree with wide, flat, pale yellow leaves is in the center, its roots woven into nooks to sit in. Laruna sits on one of the roots, her fingers criss-crossing a cats-cradle game while next to her stood a man about hers and Alec's age. He has short curly auburn hair on a round face with hazel eyes. He could be nice looking except for the rather unpleasant smirk on his face. He's nuts eating from a small bag, from which Laruna occasionally snags some from.

The air is crisp with the tang of just started spring. Tall mountains cusp the surrounding view with white finger tips. Two moons hang like wisps of clouds in the sky, barely visible. The house is a two story cream colored building with a rooftop that came to a sharp point to prevent snow for clinging on to it. Glass panes protected the windows and are nudged open just a bit to let the fresh air in.

It is a rather pleasant day, all in all.

Tiwa blushes and beams which makes her look young and even prettier as she turns to Laruna,

"He's not my boyfriend."

"If he's not after he sees you in this dress, then I'm sorry but he likes guys." She's teasing.

Meeli comes back out with a stool and the tape measure. "If the young lady would stand on here?"

Alec and Jono can be seen sitting outside the shop on a bench. They're talking and not coming in.

Tiwa hops up on the stool, still blushing,

"Know he likes me just well he's confusing."

"He's a boy dear," Meeli says, as she starts taking measurements. "It's their nature. So, what sort of dress would you like?"

"Nothing too long since I like to dance and a skirt that moves other than that don't really care."

Laruna picks up a swath of blue fabric and shows it to Tiwa, "What do you think?"

Meeli nods as she takes numbers.

"Oh, that's pretty and maybe just a few small feathers."

Meeli looked her up and down for a moment. "Yes, a few small feathers would do well. Soft brown ones, I think. To match your hair."

Tiwa just beams at her and Laruna,

"You really don't have to do this."

"Sure I do," Laruna says putting the fabric down. "It's fun. And it annoys Jono."

The tape measure is wrapped up and tucked into Meeli's belt. "There, why don't you come and look at some patterns." She holds out her hand to help Tiwa down.

Laruna is already looking at them on sheaves of pale paper.

Tiwa hops down with a birdlike motion as she heads towards the patterns,

"I'm always glad to annoy someone."

The patterns are for dresses similar to the ones in the window with their own variations.

"Oh, I like this one," Laruna says, holding out one that has a sash of color across her chest making it look almost like a robe.

"Are you sure I'd look nice in it. I mean I'm not that tall."

"Hrm... maybe not, that's more mine." She flips through them. "This one is nice and swirly."

"Swirly's always better, oh and that one has a cool back."

The back is cut slightly low.

"Ooooh, I like. I like."

"Thanks, he liked the other one I wore with a low back."

"You should go with this one then," she said tapping it.

Meeli looked at it and made a few notes on the paper with Tiwa's measurements. "Very well, it should be ready in about a week."

"Oh that's quick, sweet."

Smiling, Meeli said, "I do pride myself on my work."

Laruna meanwhile had slipped outside to bring Jono in.

Tiwa beams and hugs Meeli, "Thank you."

The woman pats her lightly, rather surprised. "You're welcome dear."

When she's let go, she pulls out a chit and offers it to Jono who signs it without looking.

He looks surprisingly cheerful at it.

The beaming gets turned first to Jono and then to Laruna,

"What next?"

"The Marketplace!" Laruna announced. "Where's Alec?"

"He went to go get something to eat. He didn't want my nuts."

"No, just other parts of you." Laruna smirked.

[piwakawaka]

"I thought he already had your nuts."

Tiwa adds as she comes out the shop and tweaks Jono's nose.
