Shopping, with Tiwa

The door leads out into a shaded courtyard paved with pale red stones. Two sides of the courtyard is created by the house, the third a stable and the fourth the gate into the outside city. A tall tree with wide, flat, pale yellow leaves is in the center, its roots woven into nooks to sit in. Laruna sits on one of the roots, her fingers criss-crossing a cats-cradle game while next to her stood a man about hers and Alec's age. He has short curly auburn hair on a round face with hazel eyes. He could be nice looking except for the rather unpleasant smirk on his face. He's nuts eating from a small bag, from which Laruna occasionally snags some from.

The air is crisp with the tang of just started spring. Tall mountains cusp the surrounding view with white finger tips. Two moons hang like wisps of clouds in the sky, barely visible. The house is a two story cream colored building with a rooftop that came to a sharp point to prevent snow for clinging on to it. Glass panes protected the windows and are nudged open just a bit to let the fresh air in.

It is a rather pleasant day, all in all.

"Of course I am." His voice is smug.

"Oh there goes his ego," Alec muttered.

"Then its your job to bring it down to size, Alec, its part of your boyfriend duty."

"I've been doing it for years. This is his de-ego'd state," Alec says cheerfully. "OW!"

Laughing, Laruna brings them to a door in a rather plain looking building covered in leaves. At least they look like leaves, they're really finely wrought green stone inlaid with gold.

Tiwa gets slightly distracted by the shiny and runs her hand over the leaves,

"Oh its lovely."

"Come on, you're going to love the inside!" Laruna gives her a sharp tug. A doorman opens the door for them and they step inside a dimly lit room.

It looks like a forest. Wood and stone carved into trees with tables in alcoves. Birds chirp from somewhere in the room and there's a large pond in the middle covered with quartz so that you can walk on it and look down and see the large, arm sized fish, with silver scales that flash in the light. The light is provided by globes that are hung through out the trees just over the tables. They don't appear to have any light source, they just glow.

Jono walks through the restaurant as if he knows exactly where he's going. Which he does, his own table.

It takes a lot of willpower for Tiwa to not go bird right that moment but she sings for a moment in birdsong to the birds in the trees,

"Wow."

Alec smiles. "There's a reason why this place is so expensive." He laughs. "Come on, let's get food."

"Yes, food."

She leans up and gives both Alec and Jono kisses on the nose.

Jono touches his nose with a startled look. "What was that for?" he asks.

On the other hand, Alec sits down with a continued grin. The menu is written on a thin stone slab perched on the table. The words have been etched in, which for some might be a problem but an earth wizard could easily wipe it clean and write again.

As Laruna said, sea food was on the menu as was sheep and goat dishes, venison, hare and a variety of birds. Perhaps strangely for Tiwa, there is no beef products.

"Ooh, they've got scallops, that sounds good. Maybe a thank you, you're weird, you know?"

She doesn't recognize all the creatures on the menu but a lot of them and tries to find something that she doesn't know to try.

"He's very weird," Alec says, agreeing with her. Jono rolled his eyes. "I still love him though."

"Only because he puts up with you," Laruna added. "Scallops sound lovely. I haven't had those before."

"Have to save room for dessert, I don't even know what most of this stuff is."

Patting, Laruna says, "We'll help you. Don't worry."

A man comes over and asks if they're ready to order. Jono orders a bottle of wine and something interesting done to a hare. He then looks at the others.

Tiwa gives a nod to Laruna, she wants to see what she orders first.

"The scallops in red sauce sound nice," she says.

Alec takes his turn with lamb and kid dish with some sort of vegetables.

While Tiwa goes for a kind of fish she doesn't know in a ginger sauce.

At her order, only after the man had gone away, Jono muttered. "Of course, order the most expensive thing."

"She didn't known you slush brain." Laruna chided him. "And you're not paying for it."

Tiwa gives a perfectly innocent look,

"Aww, no worries, you know you're having fun."

"Any day out of the Temple is a fun day." Jono stretched and put his arm around Alec's shoulders. "So, tell me about you, they know, but I don't know anything about you. I can't read you."

"Can't read me, that's good to know. Well ask me something and I might tell you the truth."

"As in I can't See your future. Probably because you're not from here." He leans his head on the wall giving her a long look. "You're not human, are you?"

"Only sometimes."

She keeps up the innocent look as she drinks.

"Human shape doesn't count," Jono said with a finger waggle.

"Aww, not that hard to figure out."

Jono sticks his tongue out at her in an act of maturity.
