Meal Series

Title: Morning routine
Prompt Breakfast
characters Alec and Lorac
Author's notes Takes place when Lorac was sane. OoOooo...

Lorac stirred the pot of cereal as he glanced outside the window to look down at the courtyard. Out there Alec practiced with his sword, going through different stances and poses. Lorac liked watching him, as his apprentice usually went shirtless. He turned his attention back to the cereal, not wanting to burn it and took it off the flame to pour into two bowls.

From the cold box he took out some tulla berries and sprinkled them in one bowl. The then set about slicing a peach for the other bowl.

The door opened as he finished the peach and Alec walked in with his usual indescribable expression on his face. An expression that melted into a smile when he saw Lorac and the food.

"Hey," he said, placing his sword on the couch.

Lorac smiled back at him, "Hey... sleep well?"

"Yes, I did," Alec said sitting on the stool to get his cereal. "You?"

"I did too." And he handed over the bowl of sweetening for Alec to put on his cereal.

title: Time passes
Prompt: Lunch
Characters Lorac and Alec
Author's notes Again, when Lorac was sane.

"You need to eat lunch," Lorac said as he and Alec walked to the University.

"Why?" Alec asked, hands in his jacket pockets.

"You need to put on more weight, you're still too thin."

Alec laughed at him. "Since when did you become my mother?"

"Since I became your mentor. Which was what? Four months ago?" Lorac said, pushing back some hair out of his eyes.

"Four months! Has it been that long?" Alec asked in amazement.

Lorac looked over at him, "Long... I was going to say short."

Title Making a date
Prompt Dinner
characters Lorac and Alec
Author's note Same as previous two.

Romantic candle light dinners were hard to do when the person you were trying to romance was Alec, Lorac decided. He was, to be kind, a bit on the flaky side, prone to wandering off and not showing up until the next morning completely oblivious to the fact that he had been missed.

Which is why he made Alec promise to come back after classes so that they could talk. He sent out for dinner, gods knew he couldn't cook it himself. But he could set up dinner with place settings and napkins and things that weren't usually used during their every day meals. He even cleaned himself up a little, though he doubted that Alec would be clean. But it was the thought that counted.

Then he waited, watching out the window for Alec to come.

Eventually, sooner than he expected, Alec did come, book bag over his shoulder, sword at his waist.

Lorac lit the candles then.

"I'm back!" Alec announced as he stepped inside, "What was it that you ..." his voice trailed off as he stared at the table. Lorac smirked at him.

Going over to Alec, he gave him a light kiss, removing his bag and dropping it on the floor. "I was wondering if you would join me for dinner."

"I... think I'd like that."

"Good."
