Alec's Inn is one of those places that either you know how to get into, or you just end up wandering into by accident. The inside is a bit on the old fashioned side with check in desk right in front when a person walks in and stairs to the right. On the left is a restaurant and to the right is a public room. It looks perfectly normal except for small things like a sign saying, "All Bills will be paid, with no exceptions. I know where you live and can get your money without your permission. With interest" or the waitress with horns coming out of her curly hair.

Currently Alec is working the front desk, which means he's sitting up there and reading because business has been a bit slow. Also he's still nursing that black eye his sister gave him. Because life sucks.

"I am but I'm not. It's weird and complicated. And my sister doesn't know about it and I'd rather she not." Alec says with a bit of 'I don't want to talk about it' in there.

"Okay, well, I'm not gonna pretend I understand that, but I won't talk to your sister about it, if that helps."

"Good. Thank you. Somethings..." he shrugs. "Speaking of. What do you think about her?"

"What, your sister? I like her. We get along."

A smile.

"You two seem like you would. It's good for her. I mean... to have people she can be friends with."

"Yeah, well, she's good company."

And more, but he doesn't really want to have that conversation.

"I'm not worried about her virtue, by the way."

I know you're having sex with her.

"And she wouldn't marry you anyway. Our parents aren't even married."

"Well, I ain't intendin' to marry her. I've got a fiancee."

Although she's back home, and who the hell knows if he'll ever see her again.

"Tommy's mother?" Alec asks. "And I just wanted to say it because some people might thing they should. Or think she might be expecting it."

Alec is going to get another black eye if Laruna ever hears about this conversation.

"Tommy's mom, yeah. And I kinda get the sense she's not expectin' it."

"I'm sure he'd be thrilled." He laughs a bit. "I think Laruna might just start laughing hysterically if anyone proposed to her."

"She's a good friend, but..."

He drains his drink.

"Believe me, I ain't intendin' to try to break her heart."

Alec thinks of several responses to that. Everything from 'she doesn't have a hear to break' to 'you better not'. He finally settles with, "I know. And I do hope things continue to go well for her and you."

"I'm pretty sure they will. She's a nice girl."

"I wish I could say if you need anything give me a call, but... doesn't quite work out like that. Irritatingly."

"Maybe I'll show up here another time, y'know? Randomly, I mean. For a drink."

Alec brightens up. "That's definitely a possibility! And maybe if I finagle some stuff you could visit our home." He stares up at the ceiling.

"It'd take some wrangling."

"I wouldn't mind that, so long as I didn't get stuck there."

"Gods no! The amount of trouble that would cause would be someone's worst nightmare's nightmare."

"Well, good. Just so long as we're on the same page, there."

"I would never do that to anyone if I could help it. I've been on the receiving end far too much."

"What, gettin' stuck places? Yeah, it ain't fun."

Of course, he's only been stuck in the City, but that's bad enough.

Getting stuck anywhere is no fun. Getting stuck places for life times is no fun. Getting stuck in places like post apocalyptic Vegas is no fun.

"Precisely!"
