Title Kidnapped
Prompt Stranger
Characters Alec (16), Laruna
Author's notes Taken from my Novel, Call of the Champion.

Laruna lifted her head up with a groan. It felt like someone had hit her on the back of the head. The surroundings were unfamiliar to her, the ground stone cold, the room dark. She tried to remember what had happened. She and Alec were walking in the city of Gezbin… just look around, really. Alec had wanted to see the wharfs and the fishing boats so they were heading in the direction of the sea, but taking their time getting there, comparing the city to the one that they knew at home. And then… she couldn’t really remember. Rubbing her head she sat up and blinked trying to adjust to the darkness.

It wasn’t completely dark, now that she had her head cleared a little, a little bit of light was coming in from near the ceiling on the walls. Windows to the outside covered in grime, she supposed. As to where she was, it appeared to be a cell of some sort. There were bars on two sides of her, the other two sides being stone wall. Next to her was a second cell and someone else laying inside of it. Alec, it looked like.

“Alec?” she called out softly.

The figure didn’t stir.

“Alec!” she hissed urgently, trying to wake her twin up. She gestured impatiently and a small rain cloud formed over his head, letting out a torrent of contained rain. This woke him up with a start, and he batted the rain cloud away from him. “Alec!”
He blinked at her, as if surprised to see her, “Lar? What… where are we?”

“I don’t know. I just woke up myself.”

She watched as he got up and tested the bars. “Iron… and I think magicked.”

Curious, she tried the bars too. Yes, there was a definite feel of magic… but not wizarding magic, about them. She rubbed her fingers together trying to get the gritty feeling of iron off of them. “Could you melt through it?”

“Maybe… given time.”

She sighed and nodded, “Well… might as well give it a try. I wish I knew what happened.”

Alec grunted in agreement, his hands on the bars. Flames flickered around them as he focused heat into the bars.

“Do you remember anything?”

“No… just walking towards the wharfs.”

Laruna looked around the room, wishing she could see better. She then paused and shook her head, “Alec throw a light in here, would you?”

“Hrm… oh, right.” He tossed a globe of fire up into the room. It sputtered and gasped for a brief moment before dying out. “It shouldn’t have done that.”

The brief illumination though gave them a view of the room that wasn’t very helpful. A door was on the wall opposite of them, but other wise the room was empty of all things. Alec glanced at Laruna with a worried look on his face. She gave him back an equally worried look.
Alec started to try melting the bars again, but gave up after a while, rubbing his palms irritably. “They’re not getting hot at all,” he said, beginning to pace. She frowned, resting her hand on the wall.

The door creaked open and the twins spun to face it. A large man was framed in the doorway, the light behind him casting him in shadow. He walked down the short stair well followed by another man with a lantern. The lantern was hung up giving illumination to the room and the man. He was well dressed in thick silks and leather. His head was bald, the light gleaming off of it, and he smiled funny. A very funny, disturbing smile.

The man walked confidently to the cells and looked the two of them over with a pleased expression on his face. “Good… good…” he said in a thick voice. “They look wonderful.”

“Thank you M’lord,” the second man, much thinner and balding said.

“What are you talking about?” Laruna asked. Alec came up to the front of his cell, putting his hands on the bars.

“They’ll fetch a fine price…”

Laruna glanced at Alec, who snarled. “We’re not for sale.”

The man’s attention focused on Alec, who glowered at him. “You’re mine now, so you better behave.”

“No. We’re not.” And Alec then screamed, grabbing his head and crumpling to the floor.

“Alec!” Laruna cried trying to reach out for him.

“Wizards. Even better,” The man smiled. “Don’t use your powers girl, or you’ll be in the same spot as him.”

“Witch!” Laruna accused him.

“Indeed. The cages are magically reinforced, if you haven’t figured that out for yourselves by now. Your powers will be of no help here.”

“They’ll know we’ve gone missing come looking for us,” she said looking at her brother, worried. He didn’t seem to be moving. The witch laughed.

“I doubt they’ll find you. Gezbin is a large city. It’ll take them days to track you down, if they even know where to start looking, and by then you’ll be gone from here.”

“They’ll find us.”

He walked up to the cage she was in, smiling. “You keep thinking that.” He then glanced back at the other man, who had hung back. “They’re twins. They should fetch a good price for the pair of them, if we pretty the boy up some, at least.”

The balding man walked over to Alec’s cage and knelt down to look at him closer. Alec groaned and clutched at his head, sitting up blearily. Laruna let out a sigh of relief. He was alright.

“Lord Beraun was asking about a pretty boy, though.”

“He was, wasn’t he,” the witch tapped his fingers on his chin thoughtfully. “He does pay well, even if he goes through his pretties rather quickly. No… I think I’ll keep them together, I’m sure someone would like a pair of wizarding twins. If we can’t find someone, then we’ll talk to Lord Beraun.”

“I bet I know someone who’d take the girl,” the balding man said.

“I know a hundred people who would take the girl. She won’t be a problem to sell.”

They didn’t even care that we’re here, Laruna realized, watching them talk about whom to sell them too. She retreated to the back of the cell and noticed that Alec was doing the same. They sat at the joining wall of their two cages and put their heads together.

We have to get out of here, quickly” Laruna said, switching to their own language.

Alec rolled his eyes, “I know that. We can’t blast out of here though, our magic doesn’t work.”

We don’t have to blast out of everywhere, Alec. There are other ways of doing it.”

Like what?”

She floundered here, “I don’t know yet. I have to think.”

“Wonderful.”

She glowered at him and he shrugged back. “Maybe when they open up the cages we could do something.

Like what? Over power them or something? Do you know how to fight? I don’t.”

“So you’re saying that we should just sit here?

“No, I’m not.

“Then what
?”

I don’t know. I just…” he glanced at the two men, who had stopped talking and were now watching them. He swallowed nervously. Laruna didn’t blame him. They were watching the two of them like a pair of cats about to eat some rather juicy and trapped mice.

“What were you saying?” the witch asked.

“Nothing,” Laruna said.

The witch stepped closer to the cage, hands on the bars now. “I asked, you what were you saying?”

Laruna held her head up, glaring at him defiantly, “And I said, nothing.”

His eyes narrowed, and he opened the door to the cell. Stepping inside, he shut the door behind him and walked up to her in a quick stride. She pressed herself back against the wall, still glaring at him defiantly.

With a quick motion the witch, grabbed her by the throat and lifted her up off the ground. She squirmed and kicked out her feet, but he squeezed tightly cutting off her air.

“Laruna!” Alec cried out, throwing himself against the bars, reaching to try and grasp the witch. As he did so, Laruna, in the back of her mind, could feel a sudden building of power. Straining, she could tell it was coming from Alec. He was the only person who it could be coming from. The witch noticed it too, for he turned with a surprised expression on his face to look at Alec.

Right before the room exploded.

Title Truth
prompt Broken
Characters [livejournal.com profile] element_wizard, [livejournal.com profile] wars_hunter
Author's Note Messing around with memory is fun!

What had been true, true in that it had happened, was no longer true, in what he remembered.

What was true, he had come of his own free will, foolishly, stupidly, but had gone of his own free will.

What was now true, he had been bought, sold after a year of no one wanting him, no one touching him, utterly alone.

What he had been before, was free, bending to Orion's wishes of his own free will (Or so he thought was true, but once again, what he thought was true was not actually true.)

What he was now, was slave, there because he was bought, totally at the mercy of Orion's whims.

And in truth, he was really just broken.

Alexander stared at the kitchen table with a frown on his face. Next to him, behind him really, were Sameth and Nick, watching him and the table. He walked to the table and gave it a sound knock.

Bagpipes started to play.

"All right, enough of that. Get out of my kitchen table," he demanded.

The bagpipes only grew louder and the table lept up and slammed a leg down on his foot. Cursing, he jumped back, Sam and Nick giggling. He glowered at them, irritably.

Stupid Scottish Bagpipe player possessing his table.

Title Betting Pool
Prompt When?
Characters [livejournal.com profile] alec_troven

The weekly betting pool was up. Alec stood amongst the other agents looking over this weeks latest choices.

When would the next agent land in Psyche?
Which canon character would end up in psyche first?
How many Mpregs in the LotRs verse would their be?

Alec scribbled his choices down, "two o'clock Tuesday afternoon" "Harry Potter" and "Seventeen" before handing his five dollars to the collecting agent. He had won a couple of times, and the extra cash was nice.

Title Questions
Prompt Why?
Characters [livejournal.com profile] little_troven, Kratz

"But why?" Six year old Alec asked Kratz as they walked down the streets to their favorite park.

"Because you are a wizard and I am a witch."

"Why though?"

"Because that is way the gods have made it."

"Why?"

"Because the gods felt that it was for the best."

"Why?"

Kratz stopped walking and looked down at his godson. "I don't know, Alec."

Alec was silent for a moment before asking, "Why?"
