Alec sat in the window of the Inn, bent over a rullete. It was an instrument that looked as if could be a cross between a guitar and a lute. It was a new instrument, a gift from his Bardic Uncle Cricket for his coming of age. Back when Alec had traveled with his grandfather, he had been apprenticed to his Uncle, but it never went anywhere. Alec's voice was just not made for singing, something that was very important for a bard. But he still knew how to play a few instruments and now that he had some sort of attention span, he felt like trying to get a bit better at it.

His fingers lightly brushed across the strings as he tried to recall a favorite melody, wincing at the wrong notes he struck.

"Oh it is. Certain people, like Legolas or his father... Captain Jack Sparrow... Boromir... generally any really hot guy have permanent beds down in psyche. We have to take them in and de-traumatize them after being effected by the um... stories. Neuralizing them so that they don't remember," Alec explained, looking relieved that Eric is freaking out. Of course he's not mentioning the few times that ERIC has been in there. "I deal with improbabilities, mostly."

"You have to keep reality real, huh?" he says with a grin.

((And... Veet just mentioned Ria/Perenor/Eric and kinky sex in the same sentence. I've only just managed to make the whimpering stop. *Giggles*))

"Yup. And reality gets very messed up sometimes. I could tell you horror stories."

He looks shifty/guilty for a moment and then stares down at his instrument.

"You okay?"

"Well... mostly."

"Need to talk? I can handle the horror stories, if..." He shrugs.

"No, I was just thinking about the few times I saw you at HQ."

Eric winces. "Do I want to know how... Wait, does this mean I'm a character of something?"

"Everyone is, somewhere. But yes, you are."

"Do I want to know how they... you know... I mean... probably not, right?"

"We're in a Nexus. We have access to things that aren't accessable in normal reality. Surely you've noticed in the Nexus there are people who are fictional in your world?" Alec said, with a thin smile. Behind Eric, Darth Mull wandered in. The mini Rancor looked sullen.

"Yeah." Eric looks bemused.

Mull wanders over to Eric and tries to see if he has any bacon or cheese logs on him. Alec says nothing to this, but he has a lousy poker face, "So, somewhere, where you're fictional there's a person who wrote a story about you... doing stuff that's probably better left unmentioned and an Agent had to go in, fix it and make sure you don't remember it."

"Remind me to thank them later." Eric seems calm, but it's probably only a facade.

Alec could pick that up right well with his empathy. "I'll be sure to mention that to them. To be sure, you haven't visited as often as some of the other people. Your fandom is rather small... compared to say the Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter."

Mull pokes Eric. He wants cheese logs dammit!

"I can imagine," he murmurs distractedly, staring at Mull. He has no idea what he wants, after all.

"Mull... leave Eric alone, he has no cheese logs," Alec said. "Sorry... that's the mini that hangs around me and my partner."

Mull made grumbling noises and sniffed Eric hopefully.

"Sorry, uh, man, but he's right. I don't have cheese logs."

"Go bugger the Cook if you want cheese logs and bacon," Alec suggested. The rancor grumbled and shuffled off looking sad and dejecte. "Sorry... Mull thinks that everyone has cheese logs."

"I wonder why. Not a common object to carry around, is it?"

"Around HQ it is. You tend to carry food around that makes the Minis happy or they get ... unhappy."
