Mel is the first fan-girl, and she hasn't even read the novel yet. That puts her in a special place. There is the quiet hope of getting to read a fan fic by her, just out of morbid curiosity sake, but that will never be voiced if only because Kai would be upset. Despite the fact that she's going through rather odd changes, they aren't minded because what sort of chaos enity would mind changes? There is also the beginnings of seeing a little sister in her. Which is nice for someone who's used to being the baby.
