Name Games

I got a call from Verra's parents last night. Well actually Braxious did. They didn't want to talk to me at all. Never mind the fact that it's my wife and my daughter. ANYway Verra is apparently fine. She's a bit on the weak side, but doing well. She has started making her nest for the egg (apparently she is laying an egg, which means that the baby's going to be a dragon. Makes me wonder, am I completely incapable of having a human child?) collecting valuable objects of questionable origin.

Braxious was very happy to hear from his grandparents, though he would have liked to have talked to him mother. I've been trying to come up with ways to distract him from that, though I don't know how sucsesful I've been.

I have come up with a list of names for the baby. It's kinda short, but there isn't that much to do since I know the gender of the baby.

The list:

Sela (after my mum)
Rosemary
Luna

Three names. Rather simple names, I think. But sometimes simpler is better. Better than Carlizina which is "She who comes in the night like a shadow of death to steal men from their horses" Which is a dragon name. Verra Rose is a humanization of Veraroze, which is "She who raizes armies with a flame of a thousand fires" We gave Braxious a dragon name. He gets interesting looks when he explains his name "he who brings raining fire from above causing much death and destruction". Apparently Verra's uncle was very good at such things.

Rosemary is the name of one of my moms. I think you should name your daughter that.

Carlizina isn't so bad, though. You can always call her Carlie.

Name isn't so bad, it's the translation that worries me.

What's wrong with your kid being a dragon?

I like Luna, but I'm biased. It does remind me of Laruna.

Nothing wrong with her being a dragon. It's more of beamusement. I mean she was concived when both of use were human, but she's still turning out to be a dragon.

You're just lucky, I guess.

Good lucky or bad lucky? Perhaps strange lucky?

Congratulations!

I'd be careful about naming her, though. She could get teased a lot and hate her name soon after. I get teased a lot, and my life is miserable. I don't know if that works the same way for dragons, but...

Luna= Lunatic. = "Hey Loony, seen your friends at the hospital lately?"

Rosemary= Somebody is bound to have read Rosemary's Baby.

Sela... I like Sela. I can't think of anything they could call her that would refer to her name.

Rosemary is a PERFECTLY NICE NAME.

I know! I like it, but I don't want the poor girl to be teased to insanity.

Psch. I doubt anyone is going to tease a dragon.
