While Alec's exit from Abe's office is quick and clean on the outside, on the inside Alec has decided to go through a scream of panic. He flicks off into the in between spaces of reality to give himself some time to think. Or not time to think. Time is over-rated.

In that not space he paces. Obviously he needs someone to talk to about this. It's been a while since he's gone off and adopted someone... or well... it was something more his older self tended to do. Or...well... time was a chowder soup. In any case, the adopting part wasn't so hard. He knew had to take care of kids and teenagers. Which is what Zack is sort of. The demon... really screwed up in the head part on the other hand is a bit beyond him. Alec is aware enough of some of his weaknesses. Dealing with emotional things is a one.

He needed to talk to someone.

Two people popped into mind.

One he immediately dismissed. Rhys wouldn't be useful here. He wasn't apart of these realities and he wanted to keep his friend out of it as much as possible. The realities. Cross contamination could be bad sometimes.

Which did leave the other. Vahl was from Zack's set of realities and would be familiar with what he was. Also, he was good at dealing with head problems. Besides it would be nice to see him again. It'd be ages.

Flicking through realities like one flipping through the pages of the book, Alec searched around for "his" Vahl. So many different variations. But he could find him. He could find anyone and anything. Perfect sense of direction made it possible.

And there it was, the little flickering bit of him and the bigger flickering of Phoenix.

Good.

Good.

Good.

Being on the edges of Dreamtime amused Alec as he'd been poking at an alternate of himself who existed near the edges of dream and awakening as a Changeling. That one is far away from here in a different part of the Dreaming. They were all connected eventually somewhere. It was one of those ways some people traveled between realities.

Lots of things could travel through them.

In a rather messy ripple of reality, Alec appeared in front of Vahl, ignoring the scenery. "I accidentally adopted a not-demon and he's really screwed up in the head which I'm really bad at dealing with so I was hoping you could help?" Then. "Hi. Long time no see. How are you?"

Maybe a bit backwards there...

The other side of the portal lead to the end of everything. Or an everything. It was a surprisingly nice end of everything. A bar with plenty of tables, booths and comfortable chairs sitting by a fire with fish swimming within the flames. Rats wearing little suits scurried around carrying trays with food and drink on them to various patrons at various locations.

There's a scattering of people around with friends or by themselves. Doing everything from nothing, to eating to reading to making a mess on the table because they've pulled apart a machine. The rats are not happy about that.

And of course there's the Window where the end of the universe can be seen in all its glory. As it is the natural time of death for the universe, it won't do anything to Zack beyond looking beautiful. Repeating every few minutes or so as time is rewound. People pay to watch the universe end, not be there when it ends after all.

Alec stands on the other side of the portal, which also corresponds to a doorway, even though he was behind Zack a second ago.

"Welcome to Milliways. The restaurant at the end of the universe."

I just feel like ... I don't know... in one of those not quite mortal and not quite from here moods.

I've been fiddling around with my Inn and have decided to make it a bit of a... trap for people. Just to see what happens. Make it so people can come in and can't leave. Or so that so some people can come and not leave. It's more fun when people can't figure out why some can leave and they can't. Well, fun for me. Not necessarily them. It'd probably be more frustrating for them.

Which is entertaining for me.

And then we'll twist around some other things and see what happens.

I won't kill them.

MISCELLANY

While Alec is from an original world, if any reality traveler would like to say they've visited it, I'd be happy to provide information about it.

Abilities

Fey Perfect sense of direction, pointy ears, inability to grow facial hair worth a damn, iron allergy

Wizard

Empathy - Alec is a minor empath, he's not very good at using his empathy and generally doesn't. Mostly he keeps his mind shielded from being read by others. If you would like Alec to pick something up, please let me know, otherwise he'll just be oblivious to such things.

Elemental control - Alec is capable of controlling the four elements: water, wind, fire and earth. Fire is the element he has the most control over. He's considered to be one of the strongest fire users in his generation. His ability to control the other three elements is much weaker. He's theoretically just as powerful with them as he is with fire, but he doesn't use them as often. Alec doesn't need a source for fire or water to control them, he's able to create them himself. Earth and air on the other hand he needs to have around him. In order of his control over them he goes fire, water, air and earth.

"Chaos" abilities

Reality Warping Through a matter of circumstances, the circumstances changing depending on what he feels like telling people - though generally he says he pissed off a powerful being, Alec has the ability to warp reality. He does it mostly by probability manipulation - increasing or decreasing the odds that something could happen or by twisting reality's strings. Even if the odds are completely ridiculous to possibly happen. Unfortunately because these powers are chaos based he doesn't always get the results he wants. The bigger the manipulation the harder for him to hold it into place and the longer he does hold it into place the more likely it'll backlash onto him. Even if it's not a major power backlash, it'll bite him in the butt somehow.

Death Impairment Alec can't stay dead. He can be killed, but then he automatically shuffles to another reality that's exactly the same as the one he just died in, except that he didn't die. It usually takes up to three days for this to happen. He feels exactly what the hell happened to him and feels himself die. And then he just wakes up.

Reality Hopping This ability allows Alec to travel through out the known and unknown multiverse. These different realities include some canon universes. The way he does this is by 'possessing' alternate versions of himself, sort of like over riding their personality, sharing the body or melding with the current personality. A version of him exists in every reality and Alec is aware of every alternate version of himself, though it exists mostly as a white noise in the background of his mind. There are a few realities, that tend to shift over time, that he keeps an active eye on.

Other Weird Stuff Alec currently exists slightly outside of reality and will probably feel kind of off to folks sensitive to those sort of things.

I've been thinking.

Yes, I know. Never a good thing.

But, I've been thinking about me and the scruffy-rat-bastard.

What if... what if I don't want to become him? Do I have a choice in the matter? I don't know what happened to me to become him. I mean, I know that my world being destroyed was a breaking point but what else was happening? What else had happened in my life to break me like that?

Then there's the fact that we've - at least as far as I know - really split our timelines when I joined the pack and fell for Vahl. I know for sure, as sure as the sun rises, that he and Vahl were never anything. Ever. Vahl's barely tolerated, and only because of Phoenix.

Like an ugly vase that you'd love to toss but your partner has serious sentimental attachments to it and there's no way you could "accidentally" break it without them knowing it was you doing it on purpose. (Sorry Vahl, if you read this.)

Maybe being with Vahl will prevent me from breaking like that. Then what? What about Phoenix? We've talked about how me getting my head on straight helps my Phoenix get his head on straight. But what if I need to crack? He's more powerful than I am. More willing to do things. Because he cracked. Because he doesn't care any more.

If I don't do that... then I might not be able to do something the things I did to help Phoenix.

Ugh. I'm pulling myself in circles.

I think I've been standing still too long and letting myself think alone in my head. Boring myself. I need to go do something.

Dunno what though.

Crossing his legs, Alec sat down on his large (but no where near as big as Vahl's) fluffy bed. The apartment was empty; Phoenix had gone off to do Father-Daughter stuff with Lynn and Vahl still wasn't home yet. It still felt weird calling this place home, but it did feel like it and it felt like it much quicker than he thought it would happen. But anywhere Phoenix was always felt like home.

Awkward introductions

Alec honestly didn't know what his life was sometimes.

Not that he particularly cared in this particular instance. Having Phoenix around made life insanely better. It was so rare for him have someone around that he knew in these situations. (The whole being older than Alec was used to was taking some getting used to, but Phoenix was Phoenix.) They'd gone for a walk around the ship, Alec giving him a tour with occasional snog stops.

And they'd gotten back to Alec's room leaving Alec feeling like he was thinking about asking his date up to his room. They'd been trying to keep it slow and so he wasn't really sure if he wanted Phoenix to come in.

Also, he had no idea if DJ was home or not. From what Alec recalled of the man's schedule, such as it was, he'd probably be sleep.

Probably.

Having Phoenix come in and possible other things that could happen followed by DJ walking in would be... awkward.

However, any sort of thought in that direction got derailed when he heard loud noise coming from inside. He turned on heel and slammed the door opened... or however the doors are opened... magichandwave thingy... and darted inside, leaving room for Phoenix to follow.

"DJ?" Alec called out, heading to the other man's room. "You alright?"

Alec's Inn is one of those places that either you know how to get into, or you just end up wandering into by accident. The inside is a bit on the old fashioned side with check in desk right in front when a person walks in and stairs to the right. On the left is a restaurant and to the right is a public room. It looks perfectly normal except for small things like a sign saying, "All Bills will be paid, with no exceptions. I know where you live and can get your money without your permission. With interest" or the waitress with horns coming out of her curly hair.

Currently Alec is working the front desk, which means he's sitting up there and reading because business has been a bit slow. Also he's still nursing that black eye his sister gave him. Because life sucks.
